Curry’s Paradox (Teacher Notes)

Curriculum Connections

The solution page references the steepness of the hypotenuse of each triangle. Students could place the shapes on a coordinate grid and find the slope of the hypotenuse of each triangle and find the equation of the line that passes through the hypotenuse. There is a coordinate grid available in Polypad.

Ideas for Use in Class

All of the embedded Polypads in the lesson can be opened in a separate browser tab by clicking the Mathigon logo in the top-right corner of the canvas. Teachers can save the Polypad to their Mathigon teacher account and then share individual canvasses directly with students. In this manner, teachers can build up the exploration together as a class rather than having students work individually.
